Individual Counseling A space to understand yourself more deeply, and actually change the patterns that aren't working.
You've probably tried to figure some of this out on your own
And maybe you've made progress. But there's a difference between managing something and actually shifting it. Individual therapy is where that deeper work happens.
Does any of this sound familiar?
You know something isn't working but can't quite name what
You keep ending up in the same place no matter how hard you try
Anxiety, depression, or a low hum of stress has become your new normal
Your relationship with food or your body feels complicated and exhausting
You're moving through a loss, a transition, or a season that's harder than you expected
Old patterns from your family or past keep showing up in your present
You want to understand yourself better, not just cope better
If you're nodding at any of these, this page is for anyone who knows that feeling.
When most people hear "family therapy," they picture parents and young children working through behavioral issues or communication problems at home.
That's not what this is.
Intergenerational relationship counseling focuses on the adult relationships within families, and sometimes close friendships that function like family. The kind of relationships that have years, sometimes decades, of history behind them. The ones that carry the most weight and get the least support.
This work is for people who want to repair, strengthen, or simply understand a relationship that matters to them, even when it's hard.
What we work on together People come to me carrying all kinds of things, and most of the time, what's on the surface isn't the whole story. Here's what I commonly work with:
Anxiety & Depression
Not just managing symptoms, but understanding what's underneath them. We get curious about why they keep showing up, and what they might actually be trying to tell you.
Disordered Eating & Body Image
This is a nonjudgmental space to explore your relationship with food, your body, and yourself, without shame and without pressure.
Life Transitions
Career changes, relationship shifts, moves, loss of identity, transitions are hard even when they're chosen. Sometimes you just need someone to help you find your footing.
Trauma & Family of Origin
So much of how we show up in the present is shaped by what happened in the past. Together we'll start to untangle that, and figure out what you actually want to carry forward.
Relational Patterns
If the same dynamics keep showing up in your relationships no matter how hard you try, there's usually something worth looking at underneath. That's some of the most meaningful work we do.
Grief & Loss
Grief doesn't follow a timeline, and it doesn't always look the way people expect.
We work through it at your pace.
Identity & Self Worth
Who you are, what you believe, what you want, and why it can feel so hard to trust yourself sometimes.
How we work togetherMy approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and attachment theory, which means we go deeper than coping strategies and surface-level fixes.
We'll get curious about the different parts of you that show up in different situations, how your earliest relationships shaped the way you move through the world now, and what it might actually look like to do things differently.
I'm warm and relational, and I'll also be honest with you. You'll feel comfortable saying the real thing in here, and I'll help you figure out what to do with it.
This might be a good fit if you're:
An adult anywhere from your early 20s to your 70s
Ready to do real work, even if you're not sure where to start
Looking for a therapist in Nashville (or virtual throughout Tennessee & Georgia) who takes your particular situation seriously
Interested in understanding the why behind your patterns, not just managing them
Open to being gently challenged, because that's usually where things actually shift
You don't have to have it all figured out to begin.
A lot of people walk into their first session knowing something needs to change and not much else. That's a perfectly fine place to start.
If you're ready, I'd love to connect.
Every relationship is different, but some common themes include:
